Bill Babler Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 The first runs of this bait last year, did have a problem with some leakage, and Spro and their retailers are aware of it. Take those back to the retailer you purchased them from and I'm sure with the reciept they will replace the baits. I have about 2 dozen of them and have not had the least problem with any, but I know some of the other guides have had some issues, but they have been very satisfied with the replacement. Most guys, just shook the water out and super glued the seam leaks and were good to go. I believe the price point was just a little higher on these baits than most of us thought it was going to be. It is a very close replica of the megabass and was designed as such, but the bait itself is not nearly as finished as the megabass. It does however have some excellent colors especially for Table Rock and it throws perfectly and when its not leaking rides very nice in the water. It is very nice as far as depth, as the bait is a 6ft. to 8ft. bait with very little if any weight, depending on surface temps. I understand this year they are coming out with some new paint and some holographic colors. And I would be really suprised if any of the baits you purchase in 2110 leak. OOPS, Of course I ment 2010. Hope folks are stll a fishin then. Thanks bb Good Luck http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Flippin Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Bill, I would hope they can get the leaks fixed in a 100 years but I doubt any of us can wait that long
Members Tritonbass Posted February 16, 2010 Members Posted February 16, 2010 I'm a newbie here and will be making my first trip to Table Rock Lake the first week of April. That being said... what color McSticks do you guys like to throw? I've been told to go with "shad" colors... but there are several variants of "shad" offered. A little help would be greatly appreciated as I'd like my first trip to be a great trip. Thanks, Mike West Marine, Grand Rapids MI
Bill Babler Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Go to my post Jerkbaiting with Bill, and click on the pic directly under the photo of the Small Jaw. You get any of those jerkbaits and you have no problem. Might also click on the pic of the Jaw, and see what is hangin from his head. Good Luck http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
CaptainJoe Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 Yea, I recently got a leaking one, but since I had some on backorder with Tackle Warehouse, they covered me and sent me a new one (without sending the old one back) with my backorder. I am really concerned about these baits, but I am really appreciative of the service rendered by Tackle Warehouse. fozzype Posted February 17, 2010 Author Posted February 17, 2010 Talked with SPRO about the leaky baits. They said some of the first production did have some problems. Their representative said they would backup anything they sell and gave me an address to send them to. He said he would express me back the baits with some "extra stuff" As far as I am concerned, this is all you can ask for out of a company - honesty and integrity. I will continue to buy SPRO Baits. Could you PM me the address. I have four new baits that came with the bad one and they may be bad as well. My complete order has been fulfilled by Tackle Warehouse, so that is no longer an option if I have more bad ones. Thanks in advance.
