redbud Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Here are some 997 pics of the old bridge .pic 143 shows what I believe to be the part of the bridge that collapsed and is now laying on the bottom. Capt. Don I tried to get some shots with the 800hz but it seemed to lose the bottom when I was out over deeper water. Was the pic of the old bridge in the earlier post made with your 800hz and are there different transducers that may get me a sharper image?
Flippin Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 That is some great pictures. Whatever hz you set on, you can easily see the bridge with tons of detail.
Fishing Buddy Don House Posted February 15, 2010 Fishing Buddy Posted February 15, 2010 Redbud, no that was a 455 as well on a 997... Really the 800mhz it not the best on the 997 I would stay on the 455. Now it does work much better on the 1197 with the screen size.. Need that larger screen for resolution. Still very impressive, detailed, pictures you have it tuned in well. Love the one where you can see the bridge that collapse!! Even see it long the bottom very nice.. These will be view around the internet for sure... If it ever get any warmer I will get out myself or at least above 25.. Will get some on the 1197 in 800 Mhz and post here soon... Members Doug Vahrenberg Posted February 16, 2010 Members Posted February 16, 2010 Redbud ... I've been capturing that bridge since 2004! You got some incredible images!!! Here's where I drove directly down the middle of the bridge and split it perfectly on both sides. It proves Humminbird has NO Blind Spots! 100% coverage for 180 Degrees! This was with Humminbird's 1st Generation Technology not with the improvements made today... Wonder if that bright spot in the top of the bridge is the old bell that is suppose to be still hanging in the bridge?

Members KC Trout Fan Posted February 20, 2010 Members Posted February 20, 2010 Where did you find that old picture at? (of the Old Bridge) Psalm 16:8 I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.
Sam Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 OK, here's what I don't understand about SI sonar. In Doug's image of the old bridge, above, he's in 147' of water and right over it, right? The sonar is showing the right side of the bridge in one image, and the left side in the other. But in both images, you see the bridge from the side like you were hundreds of feet away from it. You can even see underneath the bridge, and how could you see that from above? Does the computer re-configure the picture to show what it WOULD look like if you were 'way off to the side? I'm confused.
redbud Posted February 21, 2010 Author Posted February 21, 2010 kc went to sueandersenrealty.com there are several pics of the 2008 flood. Sam I often wondered the same thing ,now with the DI i do think the computer makes a composite of both sides to make the down image . I have only seen my spoon on the down image once.Seems like they put the down image program in because people were driving thier boats with thier heads cocked to the side. When I first installed the 997 I would turn it 90 degrees and shoot to just one side,[towards the shore]. In this pic you can see the new bridge abutment on the left side. you can see it in the down image , how could I have gone over top of the new bridge?
