zipstick Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Real neat info on jerkbaits even for those who are extremely experienced with them. Always neat to hear others' ideas and theories. Worth every minute for those who are neophytes on clear water environments. I would like to add that Bill would really enjoy using the Pointer XD (extra deep) 78 series since he likes the Bevy Shad. It runs deeper and without that exaggerated wobble of the old spoonbilled types.
zipstick Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Please dont fuel the bait monster. There's a whole lot more to tell to this and all fishin' stuff. We ought to try to get Tim Fleetwood whose won more money with the jerkbait than any other Ozarkian on here to tell some stuff.
Gavin Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 No worries...the LC XD pointers & Bevy Shads look like the run too deep to be of much use on the river, same with the IMA Flit 120...the Flit 100 looks interesting though.

I noticed Beck worked his alittle different than Babler did.
Jason Essary Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Thats awesome, Thanks again Lilley. Sorry to hear about the boat. Put in on the rock this morning at 10. fished till 130. Partner caught one kentucky bout 2.5 but spit the grub at the boat. Only bite we had. Fished sticks and grubs all day. Did I metion it was calm, perfectly flat water everywhere. Gavin, the xd Pointer and Bevy are fine on all the streams and lakes. I often pull out the dd78 first on both lakes and rivers.
Gavin Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Thanks...I have a couple dd78's but I havent fished them yet...Will give em a go next time I'm out.
