Members Brian99 Posted February 26, 2010 Members Posted February 26, 2010 I'm going to be making a Sunday - Tuesday trip to Table Rock to fish with two friends this spring. We've done this each year for the past 3 or 4 years and always seem to be too late. We live in KC and I always think of the best time to bass fish as being around May 1st. What would you guys say is the best time in spring to bass fish on Table Rock? Thanks for the info!
snakem Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 The way this crazy weather has been ,keep watching this post as one day this weather and spring will get here and yes May is a good time. But with this water being so cold I would say maybe the middle of may. Good luck and good fishing for this is one fine like Snakem Out

Good luck and good fishing for this is one fine like Snakem Out - We come down yearly the 3rd weekend in April, and fishing has always been good. Like snakem said, watch the boards closely, and you should get some great insight. - If you can, read the boards 'minutes' before you leave for up to the date info; or better yet........if you can get internet access at the lake, check it while you're at the lake for realtime reports.
Members Catchabiggen Posted March 13, 2010 Members Posted March 13, 2010 Late March and early April have been the best for me in the past for the biggens but I've caught some big late spawners up shallow in May too. My preference though would be to fish a jerkbait in water that's about 51-54 degrees - even if I have to run to the other end of the lake to find it. Just add a little wind and some cedars and you'll catchabiggen =)

I honestly think until we are looking at a good solid week worth of 55 degree surface temperatures...there really is not a reason for ME to be on the water for Largemouth Bass. Now, if you're talking about Walleye and Whites then right now is a good time, but for Largemouth, in order to have a really good trip and be happy with your results were....I'd say you probably need to wait a few more weeks before they REALLY start turning on.
