troutfiend1985 Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 I'm sure that there will be alot of people down there, and I won't be one of them. While I don't get excited about arm to arm fishing, I do like opening day because I know that spring is almost here. This year, more than any that I can remember, I am wishing for spring to be here. We've been pounded, both in KC and down in the Ozarks. So, anyone here going to any of the trout parks tomorrow? Anyone going down soon? I'll be at Roaring from March 18th to the 20th. Good luck, tight lines (and hopefully no hooks in the head ). “The greatest menace to freedom is an inert people” J. Brandeis

An oldtimers get together, so to speak. Good luck and tight lines to you as well on your upcoming trip.

brittsnbirds Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Wow Rich, that thing must be fast. Last time I saw you there was a complete head of hair!! Sounds like you won't make it for some time. Headed down on the 26th for a week. Keep working, things are getting tough out here. We (PD) dodged a bullet but they nailed several at City Hall.
stlfisher Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Looks like they have sold about 2000 tags at each of the trout parks for opening day. Looks like I will be at Montauk or Bennett on Saturday March 20th. In the meantime here is a live cam of the madness at Bennett. http://www.mo.gov/Recreation/Outdoors/Fishing/

Some of the guys were there today and got six between them. Not exceptionally good by their standards, but I'm going to watch them and learn. How did you and MC do?

The helmet I bought must be too tight when I put it on and take it off. Must have rubbed off some hair. I know what you mean about being tough. Over half of my company is not working right now. If I wasn't an operator/foreman I'd probably be sitting at home too. But I'm out here suckin up prevailing wages on a government job. 40 reg hours and 10 over for the last 8 weeks. The job in AZ is regular wages but it'll be close to 80 hours a week. So yeah I'm still having to work some. Hopefully I'll be home in early April. Cya, Rich
