We fished until 1:00am, Lots of dink males.

The water temp had fallen down to 49 when I took it at 12:00am The bite was a slow one.

Just letting it sit on the bottom not moving the fly they would come over and pick it up.

If you moved the fly you might as well re-cast.

Should be a very interresting weekend.

On a side note looks like we have a lot of 2 old fish this year I really think that the floods in the past 2 years have helped the spawn and now we have a huge amount of fish. I cleaned 29 fish the other night and only 5 were females so it is only going to get better. If we can get some rain and temps back into the 50-60 next weekend should be the hot one.

Good Luck.

Russ and Duane you should have stayed and seen the herd of deer that came across the river I bet there was 20-30 deer.

Someone over there pulled a Flathead catfish out - was that you guys? I had to leave shortly after dark , but picked up several black bass, including an 18" smallmouth.

That would have been us. Thought it was a spoonbill at first.

My buddies told me there are sows being caught down river towards Asher's Cane Bottom. We're probably going to focus on fishing down river a little ways this weekend with the cold temps. More towards Long's Camp and Asher's, or, we may go to Bull Shoals 'cause I went there last night and did pretty good. Caught three walleyes (one keeper) and one brown trout. The brown is going to taste good smoked!

Heard of crappie being caught at the submerged stand of trees in the middle of Asher's. The ones that are about 50 yards downstream of the ramp. If you guys don't know about it...it starts about 50 yards downstream of the ramp at Walnut Springs. And, it'll be about 30 yards off the bank. It runs for approximately 75-100 yards. The trees are right on the edge of where the old river channel used to be... You'll have to use your graph to locate it, but, once you do it can be El Fuego at certain times of the year. Tight Lines!
