Members kansasity Posted March 13, 2010 Members Posted March 13, 2010 I am wondering a few things. Fishing (snagging) from the bank in Osceola, is it possible and where to do it at? How do I find out current water conditions for the Osage in Osceola, temp, ect.? I am coming down Monday evening and am planning on snagging through Tuesday. I'm a Kansas City Fireman who doesn't have alot of time. My captain and I will be down. I have to get the boat running before I can bring it down. Thanks for any help. Mike, feel free to e-mail me at kansasity@yahoo.com
Seth Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 I've heard of guys doing well snagging from the bank around the Schell Osage Conservation area later in the year. I'm not sure how well they do this early in the season up there. Here's a couple links for water levels up there.... brittsnbirds Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 KC, Have you heard if they are moving yet? I've got a teacher friend trying to get me to go next weekend. We usually put in at Warsaw and go down river several miles, there are a couple good holes that hold them. Usually can find them on the graph. Snagging from the shore, are you guys using surf rods? Last time I saw that was in Miami OK on the Neosho (I think). The banks were lined with people due to the spoonies getting bottled up on the low water dam. Every once in a while you would hear a "crack" and people on the other side would duck. Never saw anyone get smacked but it was amusing to say the least. KCFF, hmm, You may have known my cousin (Bob McK). There's a plaque for him at 87th and 71 with several others. I work down south of you in Public Safety as well, but you are the good guys. We are the ones people don't like to see!!

People slinging sinkers and hooks at boats, and boats cutting their lines. Too crazy for me. Not a big fan of the ole 12/0 in the head, not to mention the 16 oz sinker!

Oneshot Me and some friends went down and snagged all day on the 21st and caught about a dozen but no keepers. I went on the night of the 15th and caught a 37 and 34 incher from the bank in Osceola. We had the boat on the 21st and snagged most of them where the sac and osage come together.
