Brian Wise
Hey all, A good friend of mine floated the North Fork of the White from Blair bridge to Dawt. Just after getting in the river she found a dead brown and threw it in the cooler. She showed up at my door that evening and said you have to see this fish I caught. She pulled the 24" 7 pound 7 ounce brown out of her cooler and gave it to me. I'm having it mounted to put in the new lodge at River of Life Farm, will get some pictures after it is mounted. Members Fisher of Men
Brian, Wow--big fish. It's a shame that it isn't still swimming, however. Gotta love mother nature. Anyway, I'm new on here, and am quite interested in fishing the North Fork. My Dad and I are novice fly-fishermen, and were hoping to come down to River of Life this summer and do some fishing. I was just wondering if there was a particular time you recommend. Well, thank you, and good fishing!
Brian Wise
Fisher of Men, Honestly during the peak time of season it can be a little difficult as far as fishing goes. There are a lot of canoes on the river during the summer, that's not saying you can't fish, it's just you have to start earlier and end later. If I were you I would think of an early spring (Late February or through March) trip, the fishing is good and there are a LOT less canoes on the river than during the summer. Let me know when you come down and I'll try to hook you up with the hot fly selections. Brian My Youtube Channel
Members Fisher of Men
Brian, Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, the only time my family and I can go is the first week of July, over the 4th I believe. Already booked. It's probably the busiest time of the year for canoe traffic, but I'm gonna have a positive attitude anyway--I still get to fly-fish!!! Anyway, with a little determination, can we still get some good fishing in? Thanks for any response.
