Lots of fish? And lots of spring break crowd? May make it down in the next day or two - thought I would see how it is -

From what I hear, crowded one day, deserted the next... Fishing has been "good" but nothing to write home about. Taney has been shutting down lately, so there's a chance at fishing there.

Give Tim at Tim's Fly Shop a call on your way and see what it's like for the day. 417-847-4956

Come by BCO and see us while you're down this way dude...

FISHED THE LOWER SECTION YESTERDAY (ZONE 2) AND IT WASN'T CROWDED AT ALL. CAUGHT LOTS OF FISH, AND FROM 11:3:30 A HUGE HATCH WAS GOING ON CAUGHT THEM ON AN UNWEIGTED BROWN MIDGE FISHED IN THE FILM. THEY WOULD ALMOST FIGHT OVER IT, EVEN THE BIGGER FISH WERE EATING THE MIDGES ON TOP. AROUND 5:00 A SMALL CADDIS HATCH HATCH WAS STARTING CAUGHT A COUPLE BUT HAD TO LEAVE. WHEN WE DROVE PAST THE UPPER SECTION THERE WERE QUITE A FEW PEOPLE (4-5 PER HOLE)STILL FISHING. THE LOWER END MAYBE (2 PEOPLE PER HOLE) LOTS OF GOOD SIZE FISH, HOPE THIS HELPS YOU. :D

Dito on what cullin said. The lower end of the river was really good for me this week. Caught all I wanted on cone headed woolybugger, olive and brown were my two favorite and most successful while jig fishing. I also used an olive maribou jig with a black head and did well. The last day I was really blessed. I caught two that were realy nice 20+ inch fish and several more that were close, but the two were the best I have caught in a while. I fished the top one morning and caught my limit but I sure don't like fighting the crowds. I recomend the bottom any day, more quality fish and more room. Anywho, hope you make it up there.
