Drbucketmouth57 Posted March 25, 2010 Author Posted March 25, 2010 Those things pull like freight trains--congrats! Yes they do pull like no other fresh water fish!!! They are just plain mean!!!
Drbucketmouth57 Posted March 25, 2010 Author Posted March 25, 2010 Dude, that is a TOAD ! Good Job ! Thanks
Drbucketmouth57 Posted March 26, 2010 Author Posted March 26, 2010 What type of swimbait? Did you catch others? Were they agressive? or did you have to slow it down? I know that I should be able to target them where I like to fish right now, but I don't catch them when I am catching whites, so I know they must be on a slightly different pattern. Probably in the same body of water right now, but not where I am fishing. How far up the tributaries do you find them this time of year? 1/3? 1/2? all the way up? Sorry, I have a lot of questions. Don't feel obligated to answer anything that would jeopordize your spot. A 1/4 oz manic minnow/ Yes/ not really/Water temp where we were fishing was 55 but out in the river it was 49.5, look for the warmer water!!!!

Drbucketmouth57 Posted March 27, 2010 Author Posted March 27, 2010 Holy crap! That was a creek run fish ? Have you ever flyfished for them ? Nope. I think fly fishing for these might be a losing battle!!!! Might be fun though.

A 7-8wt. will wear his butt down. Hybrids and Stripers are pretty mean, but King Salmon and Tarpon are taken on flyrods all the time. Fun is an understatement !

Linhardt Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Thanks for answering my question. I have used some swimbaits before with some success. If you ever need a fishing partner let me know I would love to pick your brain on Hybrids. I love to fish for them and have for many years, but I still have not got them down. I live in Jefferson City. You can contact me anytime at alinhardt@embarqmail.com Anthony Linhardt
