Quillback Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Hey Jdelow, I saw some folks fishing from the bank at Hickory Creek State Park (on the HC cove side) and they had stringers with white bass on them, so Hickory Creek cove may be worth a shot. I picked up a few whites Saturday fishing a Mcstick in Piney creek cove so that may be worth a shot also. If you work the banks in that area with a Mcstick or something similar you'll probably pick uip some whites, but I can't say if you'll find a hot bite. As a bonus you'll probably pick up some black bass too. The folks at Hickory Creek marina probably could give you some info also.
jdelow77 Posted April 12, 2010 Author Posted April 12, 2010 went to 2 dollar hole this morning about 10 am , caught 4 kentuckys and 0 whites, we packed up and headed to twin bridges about noon , fished for 4 hours ....not a bite , ive decided im going 1 more time this week, if i dont catch fish im done with whites this year!!!
hoglaw Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Fished twin pretty hard yesterday from sun-up until about noon. We only managed four small males. We were fly fishing and spin fishing with 1/4 oz road runners. Didn't see many being caught either.
jdelow77 Posted April 12, 2010 Author Posted April 12, 2010 yeah i didn't see very many being caught yesterday, i know people were catching them last week, i just don't know whats going on with these fish!! i think the water might have warmed up to quick !!! i don't think the females are done yet but, i don't know , i am going at the end of the week with a new plan and i am going to fish deeper and fish different structure!!!
jeb Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Not sure what temps the whites spawn at, but the water temps have hit 60 in a lot of the coves now. So that should mean the black bass are going to spawn now or soon. I pulled up a small branch off the bottom in shallow water on Sunday, and there was spawn goo all over it. So something is already spawning. John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
