jeb Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 I cut my teeth boating on the mighty Mississippi River in SE MN. Those barge wakes can be interesting for sure. And the boils they put into the water for 100's of feet behind them from their big props make boat handling a somewhat unsure thing. John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
MOBass Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 I am looking forward to several days on Table Rock over next couple of weeks. If the warm weather continues I am sure the play boats will be out shredding up the water. Had a wake board boat make a hard turn 20 yards in front of me last year and bounced me so hard I had a rod come off the deck and break a tip off. If they would just hold their line and look before turning we would all be better off.

"Success builds confidence, and you have to learn to trust your instincts and forget about fishing the way a tournament is supposed to be won. I'm going to fish my style and make it work for me." -KEVIN VANDAM "Confidence is the best lure in your tackle box." -GERALD SWINDLE "A-Rig? Thanks, but no thanks. If I can't catch them on the conventional tackle that I already use, then I guess I just can't catch them." -LK (WHACK'EM)

Predator1 Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 He might have took up Hunting this past winter. How ya doing WHACK. Techo, you guys want some serious action. The WHITES have been on a frenzy on the UPPER JAMES RIVER ARM. We have been putting in at BLUNK ROAD and fishing up stream. White rooster tails or white maribou jigs. Slow retrieve on the rooster tails and the jigs off the bottom. We have been limiting out in less than two hours. I know these bass don't payout cash. But, they will definitely fill the freezer. TONS OF FUN ON ULTRA LIGHT ROD AND REELS WITH 6LB TEST. Good Luck.
techo Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 Do need to do a fish fry! Kind of tied up this weekend though. Rest of the summer is for fishing....better than sex! Tim Carpenter
