Members JimmyBaja Posted April 4, 2010 Members Posted April 4, 2010 Guys, I am a lurker on the site for the most part. Would appreciate your best advice. I am getting ready to make a Lowrance purchase. Somehere around the $1,000 range. Suggestions on which unit I should get and best price place to purchase? I have a sport boat and am most interested in where I am on the lake and also like the fish finder features. Thanks
fozzype Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 Go to Marine Repair in Springfield. Phone Number is 417-833-9191. These guys simply provide the best customer service of anybody and their prices will be as good if not better than others. They value their customers and have the best knowledge of anyone around. B. skeeter Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Hey JimmyB, I see your posts on another local site. Here's a further suggestion. While you are visiting Marine Repair, ask the guys which brand of GPS/locater they recommend. In other words, don't just zero in on the brand your post mentioned. They haven't had the best reputation for quality and customer service in the past few years.

It came with an X-135 which failed on our second time on the water. The boat dealer themselves couldn't get Lowrance to respond for the longest time. Finally sent it in late September and got it back in late February. I'll run it on my trolling motor as a secondary but I'm switching brands. I was recommended to J and H Electronics up in Michigan for a good deal by someone on here and it panned out as a very good referral. However it's always good to support the locals if they provide good service and good deals. We live in Omaha and you pretty much pay the sticker price and all you can hope for is someone to know something about the particular item you want. www.drydock516.com
