I fish LOZ quite often. Great walleye fishery. Although with Memorial Day coming up, I won't launch my Ranger 619 until fall. Too many idiots on that body of water for me from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

I run an 1197 SI unit. I love it for eliminating water.

Walleyeguy, not sure if night fishing for walleye is unheard of, but we go down all summer and night fish for white bass. The boat traffic is no big deal. I would NEVER even have entertained the idea of hitting LOZ between Memorial Day to Labor Day, but a co-worker goes every weekend, and turned me onto to it.

We fish the Glaize, and it's really great. Tolerable night time temps, minimal to no boat traffic and TONS of fish. Heck, on average, we'll boat 50-100 nice whites on one weekend night. If walleye fishing is any good at night, it's worth hanging around the Glaize arm. ;)

Speaking of Walleye, and the Glaize Arm............DING! :goodjob: Last night white bass fishing in the Glaize, buttoned up a 3+ pound walleye on a craw pattern Shad Rap. The fella I fished with was thrilled! I let him keep it.

I was telling him about this thread and that there are some devoted walleye guys; he was excited to hear it. He's fished The Ozarks his whole life, is down every weekend and had a place down there for 30 years. Hadn't heard much of devoted walleye guys on LOZ.

Would love to hear some tips or suggestions about it to give him some leads. (May be worthy of a new thread) ;)

I may be mistaken, but I believe LOZ is the primary source for the state's walleye broodstock. They run up to Truman dam in the spring, and the MDC folks take some over to Lost Valley in Warsaw.

I think...

If anyone prefers to IM me some Walleye tips at LOZ, feel free. In case they don't want to advertise some info. I know on some of the other lake forums we've done that. :ninja: And as Gilligan once said; "Mums the word!"

shaker, I just realized my lunch hour at work is quickly ending. I'll try and post some info later; or you can search under the LOZ section for last year posts from me in the meantime.
