Quillback
Launched out of Lost Bridge North and headed up one of the side coves on the Indian Creek branch. Threw some largemouth stuff around, stickbaits, spiiner bait, and swam a worm - did not get jack. I saw some whites in the back of the cove so I put on a 1/4 OZ White Road Runner and picked up some whites, it wasn't hot fishing for them but I got about 10 in the 1 pound range, also picked up 3 crappie. Enough for a fish fry. Whites were acting like black bass, I would pick them up around lay downs, one or two at a time. Saw quite a few blacks on beds, didn't see any big fish, but a lot of 1- 1 1/2 lb fish. Crappie had eggs in them, so did the whites, everything seems to be spawning at the same time this year. Saw some top water action too, no stripers, appeared to be either whites or blacks chasing shad - didn't have the topwater stuff with me unfortunatley. jeb
Sorry to hear about the slow day on black bass. I'd guess the cold front had something to do with it? Headed out here shortly myself, but not sure if I'll continue to see the action I've been seeing given the weather and all the folks no doubt pounding the lake all weekend. But I'm willing to give it a shot. John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha

I actually don't know how many K's we ended up catching that day. We stayed around the Mid-lake area and fished the bushes. On Sunday it was a little slower, we were on the same bite but could not get the good LM's like we got the day before. We did catch probably another 25 keeper K's. WE pulled up on one boat dock that had some surface activity and we caught 21 K's off that one spot probably half of them were keepers 13 to 14 inchers. So I would bet with the clouds this a.m. you will gert bit pretty good!!

jeb
Mixed bag today. Some spots were good, some were tough. I only fished until about 1PM, and caught several nice fish, but had to move out to deeper water to find them. I caught a few dinks back in the shallows and got lots of taps and short carries. Part of the problem was I was trying out my new rod and reel (Loomis BCR852 GLX with Shimano Core 50 MG7) and it took me a while to get into having to set the hook harder than I'm used to doing. So I think that's why I missed more of the taps than I was used to. Very sensitive rods, as are all my GLX rods, but not enough back bone at times, especially on longer casts. Anyway, the deeper/better fish came on cranks in the first deep structure off the spawning flats. Caught maybe 6-7 legals, about that many more dinks. So not a great day. Someone in the TR forum was mentioning surface plugs working. Anyone had any luck with those, or more specifics about what they're hitting? There sure is a lot of surface action, and I did turn one of those into a legal today by swimming a lizard through the area, but that's more just tossing something in the swirl than anything. Some of the surface action is carp, but some is bass, too. John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
jay bird
I have fished out of indian creek boat ramp/campground the last two afternoons. Sunday was unreal for topwater stripers they where everywhere I had three in the boat and lost one nice one I would guess close to 20#s. Whent last night and it was a totally different story. Saw some scattered topwater action, but they only stayed up for a second or two and had a couple boils on the redfin and one halfhearted blow up. I think the stripers are getting close, but not there just yet.
