Members kcbear
I am considering bringing my wife to Stockton this coming Sunday and let her catch some crappie. She is very inexperienced when it comes to launching and loading a boat. Which launch area would be easiest for a novice? Which one is the least busy? Steepest ramp? Widest ramp? Anyone care to help me out? Thanks, KC BEAR
Members kcbear
I should add that I normally use Orleans or CC-- but CC is so narrow and steep (not to mention extremely busy) that I don't think she would be comfortable in either the boat or the truck. I have never used Ruark or Hawker Point, but would like to fish the lower part of the Big Sac area. Thanks again, KC BEAR

Thanks again, KC BEAR when my girl is with me a put in at roark. pay the three dollars. not a busy ramp. three lanes on the ramp. boat dock in the center of the ramp helps out alot especially if your by yourself or with a woman{same thing}. plus if you want to fish cc you can just drive around the corner about a mile i suppose. cc i just way to busy this time of year and theres alot of people down there that take 30 minutes to get their trailer backed to the water. just my two cents
straw hat
I agree that Roark is your best bet. It has 4 different sections to the ramp. I drove by today and there were about 60 boats there. It was real busy. The overflow area was over half full. Good luck.

Paola Cat
Hawker would be my choice .... less traffic .... very easy to get in and out. PC Cheers. PC
Members kcbear
Thanks to all four for your information and opinions. While the vote was split evenly, I get the feeling that either one would be a better choice than CC for the next few weeks. Thanks again, and good fishin' to all of you. shockley32
Ruark is very easy, however it has been pretty busy the last three days. If you want to catch a lot of crappie I'd head to Ruark, the bite is hot, hot, hot!! Brad Have your visited Limitville lately?
Predator1
Where is ROARK please?
zarraspook
Where is ROARK please? Look at your Stockton Map at the bottom (south end)......It is on the south end where the Big Sac and Sons Creek meet.... Where "Y" and "H" cross the south end.... The launch ramp is on the south end of the "H" bridge....
