So my family and I are heading out to Table Rock in June and will be there from the 5th - 13th. We were there last year in July around 2nd week and fishing was decent but not great partly due to the fact that equipment and knowledge of the lake wasnt so great. I am from Wisconsin so I have a completely different fishing style as I am used to fishing for Pike and Muskie. My collection of tackle doesnt match the type of tackle required as far as I can tell but I am looking for some tips on fishing the ol Rock. Its a great lake and I will be staying in Kimberling City area. I have some Cranks and some worms etc but just looking for a short list of what I should be working with while I go down there. I would also like to purchase a day trip for my father and I to go out on the water with a guide to see if we can get some hot spots. Any recommendations as well? Lastly how is the fishing in june? I greatly appreciate any info/help given. thanks for helping out a newbie and happy fishing!!

Read my latest fishing report and it will be very similar in early June. Keep looking at the forum, as I usually post at least once a week on the area fishing. Also our Podcast are a weekly fishing report and are some of the most informative information on the area lakes you can get. Always have info on Kimberling City.post-70-1272052398178_thumb.jpg

June on the Rock is for sure topwater month. You will see loads of topwater action, as all 3 black bass species are in a post spawn feeding frenze. Bright days, the action is early and on bad weather days it will stay active all day.

Our dropshot fish will also kick in and for this good electronics on your bass chaser are a very important tool. You don't have to have them, but you will do much better with the underwater eyes.

Also if you like fish to eat, the White bass should be schooling off the major flats lake wide and off the deep cove mouths and bluffends, early and late. They like small topwaters, and they really like "Shiney Stuff."

Also, you can look at my website for fishing action that we are posting during the week. www.whiteriveroutfitters.com

As for guides, there are lots of really good ones posting on this forum, and many more outstanding guides in the Kimberling City area. I would book soon, as the best guides fill up pretty in June, once the kids are out of school.

I can speak from experience for fishing with Bill Babler. I have fished with him twice and what a blast! Knows the lake and great fishing equipment. I can also speak from experience for Captain Don House. You will be laughing all day and wonder where the time went. Both of those guys will make sure the rest of your week will be successful.

I haven't fished with the rest of the guys on the list, BUT Captain Joe and Eric Prey have been very helpful to me over the years with tips and suggestions. Bill Beck is the next person I plan on going with. Chris Tetrick (jig man!) is on my list of must fish with too! I know about the reputations of most of the guys on the list and would have to agree with Babler, but I usually do. Any of them would be good.

As for a guide, I've hired both Don House and Eric Prey...highly recommend either of them. They'll certainly put you fish...

Similar to techno's comments, Mr. Babler will be getting my $$$ for my next guided trip.
