flipper Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 fished cape fair area mon. and saw millions and I mean millions of minnows running the bank as close as to beach themseves. never seen anything like it thought they might be being chased but could not get a bite . was about sunup and was along a 1/4 mile stretch. has anyone else ever seen this?? and why??
Bill Babler Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Are you sure they weren't threadfin shad? They are running the shore and spawning in the shallows all over the lake. Haven't been very far up the James however to know if it is the same critters. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted June 1, 2006 Root Admin Posted June 1, 2006 Saw several big black balls of shad in the James yesterday at the takeout - McCord. None on the banks though.
