loo10 Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 Four of us made a road trip to Wisconsin several years ago to chase muskies with our flyrods. We tied a bunch of awesome flies and hit the road. I knew a guy who was a guide and we met up with him and fished the Chippewa Flowage. Over three days, we caught some muskies and drank a lot of Leinenkugel beer. In fact, we visited the Leinenkugel brewery in Chippewa Falls on the way up. Nothing like Berryweiss ON TAP! Wow!!!!!! I'd love to do it again! Leinenkugels aka: Squaw Piss Lived in Chippewa Falls for a while back around '76. Hated that beer. Never will try it again. Love to get back up there some time tho. I didn't fish back then, but I'd like to try the Chippewa river some day. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
flytyer57 Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Here's a pic of a northern pike I caught while fishing for smallies on the Milwaukee River. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.

I seen a long nose gar swimming in Bull Shoals several years back that was abut 4 feet long. They don't seem to be as deep bodied as a muskie or a pike tho. They do have a lot of teeth tho. Now Wausau, WI is a familiar place to me. I used to make the drive from Milwaukee to Merrill at least once a year to fish the Wisconsin below that dam there. Real nice smallies in there.
