RPS - I agree with source of their actions, simple ignorance. I also have tried the "I will reason with them with out killing them" approach. While it usually has worked I have encountered a few individuals who either can not understand the concept or simply are sociopaths.

Speaking of PWC, twice on Pomme de Terre I have experiance people on Seadoos competing to see who can lean over and grab my slip bobber while traveling at the highest speed. Although curious to see what results would be when the hook reached their hand I managed in both cases to resist the urge and retrieved my lines. This example simply illustrates the lack of common sense you mentioned.

While it is very true that nothing can be done to someone legally fishing public waters, the stories about pwc's grabbing the bobbers (I personally call these strike indicators) would lead me to call water patrol and turn them in.

There is also nothing wrong with calling in an anonymous tip to the conservation agent. You DONT have to leave your name etc, just report what you think is going on illegal. They will investigate the offense, but they need the boat number etc to get info on the offenders. We need to make sure that if we see someone keeping shorts or to many they get reported.

Getting mad or in a fight just causes more trouble for everyone.

The lake is getting more crowded with the nice weather, and these problems will probably get a little worse, but think about all the trips we all have that turn out great!! It's still an awesome lake to be fishing!!

The main thing to remember is there are a lot of young kids out there fishing for their first time or just having a day out with their dad. I have had to bite my tounge a few times when another "angler" decided to impose on my spot. I know I have to be the bigger man and let it go because I know small eyes are watching my every move. I just explain to her what they are doing is not the way to fish. If you teach them young, this will stick with them their entire life. I can still hear my dad's words in my head when I would cast over another line, or wanted to fish too close to someone. I don't get to fish as much as I would like, so when I encounter these so called "anglers" I move, my time is valuable and I don't want to waste it bickering over one little spot on a big lake.

Have fun, take a kid fishing and let them do the catching. This will help them when they grow up..................... being 10 trillion in debt, they will need to know how to put food on the table.

If you teach your kids to fish, your wife will let you go more often.....
