Memorial Day weekend is a go if you can make it. But I won't be on the James. I am hosting a float on Shoal Creek. Check this out: http://ozarkanglers.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=22653

It would be great if both you and rps and his lovely bride could make it. Yaks are more than welcome.

I had a feeling you already had one. I'll bring a whole 6-pack. Of diet Coke. Now who is bringing the diet Slim Jims?

I read that and thought about joining, but wasn't sure if I could get upt there or not.

Still can't make any promises yet, but would be glad to join.

I'll look over the info later and get back to you. I'm kinda busy right now trying to fix my mothers computer.

Diet Slim Jims???????????

Ok.

I'm about in.

May 29, Shoal Creek, MO. Allen bridge to Lime Kiln.

Right.

Where?

I have absolutely no idea where that is. Is it shown on Google maps? I checked the Shoal Creek forum and it looks like it's somewhere around Joplin. Now how far is Joplin from Mountain Home, AR????

Guess I'd have to get a motel room for the night. Any cheap motels in the area?

Here is a list of motels with a map.

(I cant get the correct map. Just type in Mt. Home to Neosho and it will show you what it suggest your route should be. But I don't like that route.)

Or you could go via Hwy 65 Branson to Springfield and west on Hwy 60. It is only about 1.5 hr from Neosho to Branson via Springfield. So the time will be about the same but the route is much better. This is the route I would take.

Now if you wanted to save a little money, it is conceivable that you could do it all in one day. If you left at 5:30, that should put you here about 8:30. At the end of the day if you left about 4:00 you could be back home about 7:00. But that is totally up to do you.

We still have an open seat if you don't want to haul.

Count me in.

I Googled Neosho and Shoal Creek and found Allens Bridge Access and Lime Kiln road. I imagine that's where the takeout is. That's also where everyone is meeting? Is there a parking lot around there? Or just parking along the road.

Since I work in Rogers, AR all week, I can just stay there and make the trip up in about 1 1/2 hours. I get up for work everyday at 4:30, gotta sleep in some on the weekends. I can leave Rogers at 7 and be there by 8:30 or so.

Will I need to bring anything other than my fishing gear? I can bring my cheap yak. If there's still an open seat we can negotiate that when I get there.

Yeah we are going to meet at Lime Kiln. There is ample parking for everyone. These are MDC access' so there is plenty of room.

I used to work in Rogers on Emma st. myself. I made the trip in an hour. And that was before the 4-lane was put in through Pineville.

I think we have enough food and stuff coming. But if you look at the list and don't see something, bring it. We'll be looking for ya.

There's an actual access at Lime Kiln? I didn't see that on Google maps. Google shows Allen Bridge Access, but nothing for Lime Kiln except for the road crossing. Where exactly is this access? Will I find it without a problem when I get there being that I'm not familiar with the area?

Let me add;

Just after you turn off of Bus. 60, in just a few hundred feet you will cross the railroad tracks. A few hundred feet after that is the Lime Kiln Access on your right. If you cross the bridge, turn around. You have gone to far and now the access will be on your left.

I promise you won't miss it though.

Alright, I got a map so now I won't miss it. I'll be there, unless it's pouring rain, thunder & lightning or snowing.

I read over the threads of who's all going to be there, and what they are brining. Looks like everything is covered. Let me know by Sunday May 23rd if you need me to bring anything. I won't have computer access after that until I get back here to Mt. Home after the float.
