I mentioned something under the "reading" forum but thought I would post it here in case folks aren't looking at that one.

This movie won a grand prize at sundance and will be in theaters in June, including a few in SWMO (there is a facebook page with the listings).

As a lot of people probably know it was filmed entirely in Taney County and is based on a novel from Daniel Woodrell who is from West Plains.

It looks like a real movie trailer is done, here it is. There are also many other clips and interviews on youtube

There is also a prescreening in Springfield on the 14th

Yeah, that looks like Southern MO alright. I usually like those indie type movies, but that one looks a little, well, mediocre. I do like that sherriff from Deadwood, though.

I buy ess I just don't know. On the one hand, I'd certainly buy a ticket for this over something like Avatar.

On the other, I feel like the plotline falls into the "any publicity is good publicity," category...something I don't necessarily agree with.

If nothing else, it'll be an interesting discussion...

That is not Timothy Olyphant the sheriff from Deadwood but it is his partner in the hardware store. Also the sheriff in the trailer was also in Deadwood as a sick dude with a crazy thing for women, before he killed himself.

If you like Timothy in Deadwood you should checkout Justified on the FX channel.rolleyes.gif

That's what I meant...It's been a while since I've watched Deadwood, and I had him confused for the sherriff because that guy also plays Tommy Lee Jones' deputy in No Country For Old Men.
