Yes when trolling crankbaits and spinners but not too much with B/B.

I would suggest adding "tattle flags" to your boards....it will save u from dragging small fish for long distances....And don't forget the Golden Rule when using boards and u have a fish on....Don't just let the line go after u have unhooked your board,u will get slack in your line and u run a very high risk of loosing the fish.

Thanks. How much do the planer boards usually cost? And what does B/B mean?

B/B means Bottom Bouncer......I think boards cost around $30 for a pair and about $20 for the "tattle flag" upgrade.....so $50 all together for two boards.....

I can't remember exactly but I think the Off shore Tackle boards were like $20.00 a piece....They make specialty rods for planer boards, however, I just use a 7 foot rod with a soft tip and decent backbone. I use fireline on my rods, which kind of makes me use a softer rod to keep from pulling hooks.

If you can setup 2 offshore boards for $40 your doin' better than me. With flags & snappers so you can use braid they seem to cost me about $50 each.
