Yea- it's a very expensively built dock.

But not practical.

The deck is almost 3 feet off the water's surface. The floatation is too thick. I assume they're going to do something with the metal dividers in the middle of the double stalls cause most boats will float underneath them they're so far above the water and no padding - ouch!

The bait shop looks first class with a big cleaning room but they're going to have issues with the long drain pipe - it's only a 3-inch pipe. It's going to get clogged with fish pretty quickly. Ours is 4 inch- straight down and it gets clogged. Their line run horizontal about 15 feet.

The landscape and walkway is first class too. They spent a lot of money there.

They aren't letting anyone on the dock until it's 100% done which should be pretty soon.

Thanks guys, my uncle put together a trip down there in July. We are going to stay at Fall Creek, some of the guys like to golf. Do they have a ramp, if not where is the closest ramp?

I noticed that the floats seemed real high too. They had a big jon boat docked in one of the first stalls when I was down in late April of this year. Looked like it would be a long step down to get into the boat. Also thought the upstream end would be prone to collect a lot of debris with the current flow on that side and being just below Fall Creek. I must say it looked real nice then even though it wasn't finished. And just below the downstream end was a good spot to catch a few every time I was up that way.

Phil, do you anticipate this may cause some boating congestion up there now?

There's been a dock at Fall Creek for as long as I can remember. Don't think it will cause problems.

Closest ramp would be Cooper Creek or the dam. The ramp there is closed.

The ramp was poured short so you can't back a trailer in without backing it off the edge. No way to fix it really without spending a ton of money. They may fix it, seeing how much $$$ they've spent on the back work and dock. Who knows.

On another note: They painted the doors on the dock shop navy blue. Colors were nice till they did that. Now . . . well it clashes real bad. Must have been a guy who picked out the color- color blind no less.

Ok Guys,

Here is the real story. The boat ramp is closed and in need of repairs. As you can see by the new marina money is not the issue. Now about the new "Fall Creek Marina". This marina will be 100% ADA compliant; It has two handi-cap bathrooms on the dock with hot and cold running water. It has handi-cap fishing areas with handi-cap cleaning stations. We will also have a handi-cap lift the assist wheelchair bound customer into our rental boats. According to the builders, this is the new standard in the city limits. This will insure the docks don't sink or roll over like in the last ice storm.

All slips are close to 10' and will be extremely well padded with multiple roller at the ends of the walkways and a standard roller each well divider and all slips will be well padded. The well divider will have multiple vertical pads to insure small boats like the river jon's that the local fishing camps have will be safe while in the slips. Each slip will have it's own ladder and grab rail to exit the slip and we will provide a retractable extention cord at every slip.

There will be a safety ladder at the end of the dock just in case someone takes a dip. Handi-cap parking at the top with easy access to the dock and all facilities. Courtsey parking with electrical hook-ups for your boat or trailers. Our marine gas will contain no Ethoneal and Yamalube oil will be available.

As far as the colors, they are company branded colors. The colors might not appeal to you, however you will grow to reconize these colors because when you see them you know you will receive a friendly smile, warm welcome, fresh hot coffee and "Outstanding Customer Service". We are open to the public and will be looking foward to see everyone again on the lake. We are shooting for the 1st of July 2010. The same staff is there and will be doing every thing possible to build the business back to where it was before the flood. I would like to thank Lilley's Landing crew for all the help in assisting us to re-open, Curtis has been extremely helpful.

See ya on the water.
