First time on this river and success was fairly good. The Jedi's new canoe had it's maiden voyage, she did well. Caught some fish, saw some beautiful country.

My fishing bud has advised me all through and got me back into this sport-obsession. He had a tough day fishing, which we've all had. He normally out-lands me 2-1 at least. The cliche holds, 'it's fishing, not catching.' The 11 Pt. was not kind to him.

Those of you who fish the 11 Pt. know this first place, turning left at the first island down from Greer. Fished the #8 rubber leg stone w. copper john dropper. Had a hit quickly, then landed a decent 'bow by the downed tree before the turn. Another long deep drift brought a solid fish, felt big, not a monster but at least 16". He was on only about 4 seconds and shook me. We fished around the corner and I landed 3 in about 20 minutes on both CJ and RL. Fished down the end of the island. In the run on the left downstream from the island I hooked another nice one temporarily. Hard for me to hook up downstream after a long drift below me. Great hole there.

We moved down, pulling off, fishing, going back in. Can't say the locations, but I did land one in the boulders right below Mary Decker Shoal(?) The Jedi eventually landed one from the canoe and then another. Yours truly, the padawan got 7 total and lost at least 4, Rubber legs and copper johns, couldn't get any love from the other flies I tried.

Fished the next morning solo upstream from Greer under the bridge. The nice riffle 1/4 mi. or so up produced this nice 15" bow on a streamer creation I tied. Great river and I will be back in the Fall.

Ahh, the prettiest trout in the state from the most scenic of waters. I need to take a float on the point. Its been a while.
