dennis boatman Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 Went out last Monday, caught 7 Drum from 2 to about 5 pounds. Just knew each one was a walleye. Anyone else catch Drum? A strike indicator is just a bobber...
Dutch Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 Yes once in a while on a jig but not like on Pom. Sometimes they are all over the place down there.
Fly_Guy Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 Anyone eat drum? I've read that they are actually quite good to eat - fillet easily, and are good fried. Anyone tried it? Wife and I are renting a boat from the marina for 4 year anniversary, and we may just keep them if we catch them.
dennis boatman Posted July 18, 2010 Author Posted July 18, 2010 I would put drum in the same category as White Bass. Most likely would be better when the water is cooler. Nice white flakey meat. A strike indicator is just a bobber...
straw hat Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 I agree with dennis but I would add that they have more bones than white bass.
Members Jiggy Posted July 21, 2010 Members Posted July 21, 2010 Conservation agent at Pomme told us to throw them on the bank or knock them in the head...is that true for Stockton as well to help keep population under control?

Samkam1 Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 not worth the effort for the amount of bony meat you get IMO SK
