jdelow77 Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 Going out friday night, just wondering if anyone is catching any fish ?? going to launch out of highway 12 bridge....
Stump bumper Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 I was a Prarie Creek Friday night when the jackpot started but I was stuck pulling a tube for my 19 year old daughter (I will never do that again) but I did see a boat limit out right at the park right next to the swiming area fishing the drop off. I think there is a fish attractor right near were they were fishing. I was there from 7pm until about 10pm and never saw them move the boat one foot but I saw the net come out 3 times and the times the net didn't come out for a fish it went into the live well anyway. They can't claim I gave away a secret spot since if you launched at Praire Creek Friday night you would have seen them.

Stump bumper Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 eyes? Pretty sure they were fishing the jack pot, all I saw them boat were bass, all the eyes I have seen have been around Rambo creek mouth but I have been fishing Table rock more than Beaver. I only catch eyes by accident though.

Stump bumper Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 Did you say EYES? I usually fish Stockton for them but get lots of shorts.Good numbers, size on Beaver? Numbers are getting good on Beaver but there are more 16-17 inch fish than anything. My wife caught a 24 in on a drop shot a while back. I am suprised how many have taken over the boat docks, I can't find a bass up under docks that used to pay off but know if I get a bite up under a deep dock it is a walleye. I took refuge in an empty big boat dock up near Rock Branch a while back during a litttle pop up thunderstorm and I keep seeing fish move under me two at a time about a foot off the bottom. So I put on a 4in swimbait and jiged it straight down and ended up catching 6 walleye all 16-17 inches in the hour it took that storm to pass. I catch more eyes on worms up near the rock cliffs now it is hot than I do KYs but they are all shorts but seem to feed in the warmer water more than the bass do, and for a cold water fish I find that strange. I only know 1 guide fishing for eyes on Beaver and there are no tournaments so with so little presure and intrest, I think Beaver is a sleeper that will be taking off as a walleye lake in the next few years.
Quillback Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 Yep I think that next year all those pesky 16-17 inch eyes are going to be keepers. A nice bonus fish when you're out bass fishing, something you can take home for the frying pan.
kwall Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Yep! One of the best eating fish I have had. Well I haven't fished Beaver for eyes yet ,like to find a few. I have always fished below dam for trout.May need to try this weekend. Thanks for the help.
Sore Thumbs Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 I was in a jackpot tournament out of Prairie Creek last night. I thought I did good with my 9.05lbs until the guys that won it wieghed in 19.65 lbs. Big bass went 6.40 so you can imagine the rest of their limit. Impressive.

That was impressive, full moon made me want to get out also. What time did they start bitting was it at dark bite or after midnight thing? Tuesday night jackpots have been 2-3 lbs so I am guessing that the fish are not bitting until later.
