Members N Wolf Posted July 28, 2010 Members Posted July 28, 2010 I was just wondering if any one has caught any monsters on the river? Personally, my record is 5 lbs on large mouth, and 4 lbs on smallies. I lived just below the dam at Noel until three years ago and have caught all my big fish down towards cow skin. Kind of strange becouse it seems that above the dam has a bigger average size. Until about five years ago I thought that 5 lbs was about as big as they got down there. That was until I saw one bigger. Under the bridge at Way side behind the up stream center column I saw a large mouth that would top 7! I spent about an hour pitching a jig to him and couldnt make him mad enough to pick it up.
ollie Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 No, but my neighbor caught one that went around 7-8 pounds two years ago and I have seen some really nice smallies that would go around the 4 pound range as well. troutbum479 Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 I've caught a few 3-4 pound smallies and a largemouth over 6 pounds. I see big fish everytime I go. arkmoflyfishing.blogspot.com http://okietroutbum.blogspot.com/

Members waterback Posted July 31, 2010 Members Posted July 31, 2010 I caught my largest fish just below two sons on the 21st...I dare not say the size of that large mouth because I haven't seen a 5 pound fish in a while but he made my year regardless. It seems we always catch a nice kentucky every time we go which is about 2-3 times a week
Members N Wolf Posted July 31, 2010 Author Members Posted July 31, 2010 I have some pictures of fish that got weighed on sertifies scales. As soon as I get them transfered to this computer I will post them. I even have one that I caught down there that I can post with its length. You may be suprised how light they are compared to small mouth.
Members N Wolf Posted August 3, 2010 Author Members Posted August 3, 2010 These two are both just a shade over five. One is five pounds 2 oz and the other is five pounds 3.
