eric1978 Posted July 29, 2010 Author Posted July 29, 2010 Well I did have to redo the front seat after it got destroyed by Wheatie. I noticed that in one of the pics! Looked like a boat seat? Comfy...probably wouldn't be great for a solo where you're trying to keep the weight down, but you can't beat a nice cushiony seat to sit on all day. Nice job Wheat.
Wheatenheimer Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 I guess I should switch to the low-fat sausage, eh? Sorry about your seat, Chief!
eric1978 Posted July 30, 2010 Author Posted July 30, 2010 I've been thinking about selling my yak and buying one of those after this year. Looks like I know where to get it modified! I'm guessing you really didn't sacrifice that much weight switching to a different seating arrangement. I saw a 11.9 the other day and was dreaming. I didn't like the seat however, but what you did makes it more appealing. Yeah Ollie, I tried my best to convince myself the factory seat was good enough, but in the end it just...wasn't. You could of course just buy a web or cane seat and a sitbacker and it would be much easier...but not as much fun. I guess I should switch to the low-fat sausage, eh?

Caught them on sale last year at BP. That's Bass Pro. But as far as the solo, I find no problems. Yeah it adds a little more weight but it is definitely worth it to me. I have spent almost 40 years riding on those hard butt "benches" and I plan on spending the next 40 in comfort. I am going to make a couple of changes that I think will shave off a little more weight. I guess I should switch to the low-fat sausage, eh? Sorry about your seat, Chief! I would just eat less of them. Don't worry about that seat mounting. My dad actually broke it first. I just made a quicky repair hoping to make one more trip. You didn't do anything. I have it fixed like the back seat now.
