The two patterns that I use for hex come from Michigan...The Robert's Yellow Drake for the dun, and the Regan's Hex for the spinner. You need to find the right kind of bottom for hex as well...They are burrowing mayflies, so youll find them in spots with silty or mucky bottoms. Cheers.

They should still be around when you are here, but catching them on a dry is never a sure thing. In the evening you might give it a try up at the bridge. There is a descent hatch there.

I have noticed in the last couple of days that the hatch has slowed down. Wonder if it is just a slow down and it will pick back up or if it is going to be a weaker hatch this year. Either way, the fishing has been pretty solid.

Got a photo of the bug? What fly are you using to mimic? Is it possible that they dries will still be working when we're down on the 10th?

Our hexagenia patterns come from Pacific fly group. Their hexagenia nymph, Cripple-hex, BMAR Ultimate Hex and their Hex spinner. We also use stimulators with a yellow belly. As for if you will get dry fly action, I don't know. Like I said before, even when the hatch is good, getting regular rises is ify here, but not completely unheard of either with this particular hatch. If the hatch is fading earlier this year as the last few days have, then it will be even tougher. If it comes back, then it may be possible. They come out after 6:30pm when they come do make an appearance. That being said, all the normal big flies bounced along the bottom are working. This has also been a big year for the prince nymph on the Eleven Point (size 12 has done well for me).

Regan's Hex...da bomb when spinners are falling......I add a bit of white to the post after I finish the body.

It was a bit cold Thursday & Friday...warming up again though...bet the bugs come back.
