U Highway Closed

I know that a lot more people are going to start heading to the lake now that the weather has gotten better. So, I thought I would let everyone know that route U out of Walnut Grove has closed until approximately Oct. 14th for bridge work. Route U is the one going west out of Walnut Grove and leads eventually to Greenfield or the Maze Creek area with the right turns along the way.

Thanks for the update. I don't usually go that way, but it is definitely good to know. Maybe everyone else will go that way anyway and leave more fish for me. lol

It is scheduled to be completed on Sept. 1st. Incase you need to know about other closures in the future the website is;

I'm heading up Saturday night. Probably either go to CC or Cedar Ridge to bass fish. Would like to do some crappie fishing, but can't find the darn things.

TG, I have been fishing the CC area a lot this summer. The dissolved oxygen there has been pretty low so try sticking to the windy shores. Find any cover (brush or chunk rocks) along steep banks. The crappie should be anywhere from 10 to 15 ft deep. If you don't get a bite in 15 minutes move. Only one out of 5 or six spots will have fish but they will usually be stacked up once you find them.

We ran into the 32 road block last weekend. The end result was we found RT 39 at Cedar Springs ( 7 miles east) of El Dorado Springs was a better route.

We had a great 2 hours of fishing Friday evening. Returned to same spot 24 hours later NADA!!??

Just so you know they are supposed to be working on the twin bridges north east of Greenfield after they finish the 32 bridge.
