Members trouthunter77 Posted August 31, 2010 Members Posted August 31, 2010 I had just purchased a bear charge as my first bow. Everything works fine, had it adjusted (backed out) to 53 pounds. now looking at the gap between the two looks like two more threads of the skrew is on top. Should i be worried? its not more then a turn diffrence it looks. but i did not want to just turn one limb. any way i can tighten both all the way then back it out equaly?
fishinwrench Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 The measurement to be concerned about is the "tiller", which is the measurement from the limb to the string at the bottom and top of the riser. These measurements should be syncronized before your knocking point is set, and kept syncronized any time you adjust the limb bolts. Having one limb screwed in more or less than the other does not cause more or less tension on any individual limb, they will always equal out. But it does cause the center of pull to move. Get a bow square and keep the tiller sync'ed, and your knocking point and peep (if so equipped) will stay in tune as you increase or reduce the draw weight. If your bow is equipped with an overdraw you'll want the bottom tiller measurement about 1/16" wider than the top. Hope this helps. Wrench
