Goggle-Eyed Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 I'm pretty sure I've seen old oneshot on the bank down at Barclay....if not it's another bearded man in overalls! Come on oneshot...reveal your true identity. The world is biting at the bit! What is your name!? After yesterday's rain the river is now BLOWN OUT... I was planning on fishing tomorrow but looks like I will be firing up my new smoker and doing a pork butt! Joe
XP 590 Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 XP590 , How far is the drive from Columbia? Sorry I didn't reply sooner, too busy working and catching up from the other day. The other guy was right on. I can make it in 2:15 with good traffic and no stops. I figured I'd meet some other OAF guys some day. One Shot's overalls were a dead giveaway.
XP 590 Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Got up 5AM its pouring rain, eat Breakfast its slowed down.I decided to go on over to Barclay. Get over there its raining again pretty good.I thought oh well give it a try. I was using Power Bait and Nightcrawlers.Caught one small Rainbow. Not much but go good with the Catfish I had at home. I'm soaking wet hear couple guys coming down the path. One asked if I was oneshot? Yea.He tells me he is XP590,said he had drove from Columbia and wasn't going to let rain stop him. XP590 good to meet you hope you had better luck than me. oneshot It was a pleasure to meet you Oneshot. We were swinging woolybuggers at Barclay and each got a few bumps but couldn't hook up. Since the rain was NOT letting up, we headed into the park to redeem ourselves. I figured if we're going to fish through a downpour, might as well guarantee ouselves some fish. Dave (XP590)
Wayne SW/MO Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 looks like I will be firing up my new smoker and doing a pork butt! Joe I've been on a brisket kick lately, but I think I'll go back to ribs and butts. I do a lot better with them. I have 3 smokers, but I'm partial to my Smoky Mountain Great Outdoors. maybe I'll catch up with you one of these days Oneshot. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
