Walleyedmike Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Fished Stockton over Labor Day weekend. Was only cut off by one boat that was tubing, boat traffic on the lake was pretty manageable. Fished BB/slow death on the big Sac arm Saturday. Caught four walleye in about three and a half hours, only one 16.5" keeper. He was released in grease. Sunday trolled flicker shads on lead in the little Sac arm. Caught, 10 or 12 walleye and at least that many LM and Whites in four hours of fishing. Was a nice day, my wife ran the boat so all I had to do was reel in fish. I thought to myself, this must be what it is like fishing with Bob Bennett or Marty Thompson... But anyway, several were keepers, all were released to fight another day. Was a pretty lazy weekend, hit the water about noon each day. Didn't fish Monday due to the wind, and I needed to be home fairly early. Hope to be back in a couple of weeks. WM

Members cculler10 Posted September 9, 2010 Members Posted September 9, 2010 There was one difference! I bet your wife is better looking than them. I am considering fishing stockton this Friday. Would you recommend or not recommend trying the lake out for walleye? I fished Labor Day and caught 4 walleye (1 keeper) and a bunch of largemouths trolling a bass pro lazer blade. We fished in the afternoon/evening when the wind died down a little. Are the walleye active all day or just low light conditions? Is live bait the best bet or would i have equal success with cranks? Thanks for the input. I will be coming from Springfield so the east and south sections of the lake would be best for me if you know of any spots.

Stockton Lake Guide Service Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Haven't seen your wife, but I'm pretty cute. Good thing you stayed home monday. I tried the jig crawler and slow death but it was pretty slow. we ended up crappie fishing on the trip. Hopefully fishing in this 4 inches of rain in the morning will work better, if I ever get to bed.
