Sore Thumbs Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Same deal going under the Hwy 12 bridge. If you didn't know those were no wake zones, you'd never have a chance to cut the motor before you were through them. I fish around and go through PC a LOT since I live near, and launch in, Sunset Bay. So I see a lot of "violations" through the no wake zone. The other day, I saw a guy on full plane before coming out of the no wake zone there. It was obvious he'd come from the ramp area. After I got over the shock of it, I realized what may have happened. There are no "no wake" signs at the launch at PC that I'm aware of. So if you didn't already know you were in a no wake zone at the launch (first time launching there, etc), it'd be reasonable to idle away from the ramp a little bit and then let 'er go. Never thought of that but you are exactly right about that one. They need signs at the ramp that tell you about that before you launch. I bet there are plenty of people who have been ticketed for a wake and had no idea. Great observation.
taxidermist Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 And yet they never write jet skis or ski boats tickets for using dive flags as buoys to drive around. Someone needs to ask the AGFC about the speargun incident where a diver speared a jetski, when the driver of the jetski ran over the diver. No wake means no wake. regardless of boat size.
Members wormer Posted September 15, 2010 Members Posted September 15, 2010 I know this is late but I did get to go Sunday. Fished from 6:45 to 11:00.
