joeD Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 I wouldn't count on the rain. Anything less than inch or two will get sucked up by the dry earth. Right now CC is 10.82 ft and 113 cfs at Kelly slab. Very low and very clear. Minimal flow. It'll be tough to say the least. The Buffalo might be a better option.
joeD Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 I hope you do get some rain. I think any kind of a rise, even an inch, in the river, or just some coloration, should make a difference. If not, then you'll be wade fishing Pyatt to Snow while your canoe holds your gear.
gotmuddy Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Pyatt down to snow will be incredibly tough until we get some regular rain. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
tjulianc Posted October 26, 2010 Author Posted October 26, 2010 We were able to float a short stretch this last weekend. The water was very clear, and that was more of a challenge than the low water, as far a fishing goes. We were able to make it down some of the rapids without dragging, especially the gravelly bottom ones, the limestone bottomed rapids were tougher, but manageable. We didn't catch as many fish as we normally do on Crooked, but we did catch some nice ones.
gotmuddy Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Spiderman and I floated it yesterday in Kayaks and had very little trouble with dragging. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
