Members BIG K Posted September 25, 2010 Members Posted September 25, 2010 Just got home from Taneycomo fished the last 7 days about 10 hrs a day. spent most of the week above Fall creek and all the way to the dam when water levels would allow caught alot of fish on 125th ounce jig with a float on the flyrod. Sculpins greens and dark colors were the choice. lots of variation in the trout size 8 inches to 19 inches. however alot of our bigger fish 17 18 & 19s came on a 1/32 jig on spinning rod with 2# test we had several of these every day execpt one(thurs). got to fish the water falling out thurs evening in the rebar and MDC ramp area used a floating rapala 4 inch orange and had fish on almost constant for 45 min. saw several large browns over the week cruising the entire upper end (fall creek and up)those of you there for the brown run better be greezin those reels. Friday morn as i stood on the dock i told my friends all i wanted was one big bite in 38 yrs of chasing trout on t como i have never boated what i would consider a trophy at 2;30 that afternoon in lookout hole with a 1/32 green jig (from lilleys) i got my wish some of you may have heard me hoot and holler and jump up and down as my buddy netted a 25 inch 7# rainbow. man 38yrs was a long wait took a few pics and turned her loose
Fly_Guy Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 That's a beautiful fish - well done, and thanks for the report! Gonna head down this afternoon/night and throw some buggers for those browns you mentioned...
Flyflinger Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 Well done...glad to here you let her go. There is no limit to what a man can do or how far he can go if he doesn't mind who gets the credit
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted September 26, 2010 Root Admin Posted September 26, 2010 Gosh that's a pretty rainbow. We might have to print and hang that picture on our wall
laker67 Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 That's a great fish Big K. Those bigger rainbows, at taney, are getting harder to come by with each passing year.
Members Jim Basnett Posted September 26, 2010 Members Posted September 26, 2010 Job well done! What a beautiful full color Rainbow!
