jeb Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 Wife and I were up to Springfield this weekend, and can never go there without stopping at Bass Pro, of course. The outlet store had a 20% of sale going on all reels in the store. If you've not been there, it's a building just to the south of the main store and they carry a few new reels and lots of returned reels. All the reels in there are already discounted, so an additional 20% is pretty good usually. I picked up another 2010 Revo Premier for $160! It was a return. Only has a 30 day in store warranty and came with no paperwork or box, but I already have 2 I bought new, so I don't need more boxes or manuals. I pulled it apart when I got home and cleaned it all up and gave it a proper lube job, just as I do with all my new reels. Everything is in pristine shape and it's ready to go rip some lips now. jeb Posted September 27, 2010 Author Posted September 27, 2010 They had one more right hander, and 3 more lefts. They had a couple of Diawa Steez reels at $320 before the 20% off, but they were both leftys. Whole bunch of others too, of course, but those are the ones I was interested in. Wayne SW/MO Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 FYI, I was told by an employee that anything returned goes to the outlet store. Why it was returned doesn't matter. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

I think all the stuff in the outlet store are refurbs, because a guy in alton gets all the returns from bass pro. He has a warehouse FULL of returns. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
jeb Posted September 28, 2010 Author Posted September 28, 2010 I believe there is a mixture of each, refurbed and returned. They also have some new stuff in the cases by the front door. The reel I got was obviously a return. If it had been refurbed, it would not still have had a piece of fishing line stuck under one of the knobs. John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha

He has a warehouse FULL of returns. You'd think they'd do something like Cabela's does and have a "Bargain Cave" type of thing at some stores to get rid of those returns. It's obvious that some items in the Springfield outlet store are returned items, but it's mostly closeouts or discontinued stock from the main store. Odd they don't try to blow out more of the returned stuff. John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
gotmuddy Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 The last time I was at the warehouse they had 4 or 5 boxes of returned reels. I got a pflueger president spinning reel for $15. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
