We put in at Hwy 13 at 7am yesterday and fished a jig. We caught 25 keepers (all were let go) biggest fish weighted 4lbs Kentucky and Smallmouth. Found them in 10-25 foot of water on rocky points and everywhere we went. Caught a few dinks on white spinnerbait. Didn't fish any topwater.

It all sounded good till I saw the picture with the Cowboys accessories.rolleyes.gif (must be NFL season).

What size jig was you having the most success with?

I think I saw you by the bridge. Nice fish. I was wearing a jacket though!

I was down last week and ventured a little upstream beyond the 13 bridge. A little windy a day or two. Caught a few up there but spent the rest of the week down by the dam. I fish out of a red lund. Friday the traffic picked up a bit but the rest of the week was nice on the water and the evenings were spectacular. Fished an hour after sunset. It was a good trip for me. BTW, I have fished 5/16 and 7/16 oz but I found that 1/2 oz worked better for me for some reason. Perhaps it is the type of rod I am using. 7 foot medium abu/garcia. I don't feel the 5/16 or 7/16 dragging as much as the 1/2 oz. Any thoughts on jig weight?

We fished the Kimbeling area Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning, caught fish on jigs, on main lake points, single tail grub and spinner baits up in the bushes. Over 50 fish in two and a half days. Six keepers, 3lbs large jaw being the biggest.
