flytyer57 Posted October 7, 2010 Author Posted October 7, 2010 Ninja style? Up close and personal. Got muddy don't like fishing 50' away. He likes to be right up on top of them. Ninja fishing. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
ozark trout fisher Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 Please notify us in writing of which "pools" you will be frequenting so we (at least I) won't interrupt YOUR fishing day... Don't have to worry about that. It's exactly why I don't fish trout parks anymore. Rotating a good pool is an ethic on crowded trout streams that's been around for ages, and it's just a good way to share the best water. If you've been catching fish after fish for the last five hours on a really good pool, and there are lots of other people around, it's common courtesy to move to some lesser water for a bit to give others a chance. Flytyer, I agree that it's rude to stand in the area of another person's swing, especially if they're swinging soft hackles or something like that.

I was swinging a woollybugger. I'd have had no problem with the guy if he had been stepping down stream. I wanted to step down, but he was stepping up stream, right into where I was trying to fish. He outright pushed me out of the stream, and that is what pissed me off. After I left, and started packing up, I seen him catch a really nice fish right from where I was ending my swing before he showed up. Unless it's only a ½ hour to generation and I've been freezing my butt off since 3 AM. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.

If not, he's gonna get a list of the stream etiquette rules that I posted here. I may just put one on every vehicle in the parking lot. gotmuddy Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 If I am in the canoe and we are floating down a riffle I will drop my paddle in an instant and pick up a rod if I can make a cast where I think a fish is. I have had great luck doing that too everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
