FishinCricket Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 FYI - The 2 individuals in question were also fly fishing. Lack of courtesy is readily available in fishermen with all types of equipment, e.g. - idiots use everything! Indeed... lol cricket.c21.com
Members catfishjohn Posted November 2, 2010 Members Posted November 2, 2010 In all my years of fishing, I have never witnessed anything like what we saw this past summer. We were catching crappie off the bank and were sharing the bank with another fellow that we did not know. We had said hello to each other but not much more than that. Another guy pulls up close to us in a boat and starts fishing the same hole that we are. WE did not find it to be a problem because we were all catching fish, but the other guy on the bank didn't seem to like the boat guy being there, because he started throwing rocks at him!! Hundreds of rocks! They said a few choice words to each other and the man in the boat finally left. I go fishing to relax....this was not my most relaxing fishing trip.
Wayne SW/MO Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 you are kidding of course... No. I think your etiquette rules might work for you but some are ridicules. We don't have waters like they do farther west and ours get a little crowded sometimes. I take offense to people holding a fish out of the water for 15 minutes so all his buddies can get their pictures taken, or watching a snagger at outlet two, some "Johnny come lately" telling me how I should act on a crowded stream then I do the guy out trying to get his piece of the stream in a less than ideal situation. You want etiquette, fish the tailwater at Table Rock. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
