You can see my obvious mistake on the phantom green craw. It helps if you use the right side of the stencil for the side of the bait your working on.......LOL. motoman Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Very nice trout, very nice! Those fish will hammer that thing. - I've made the same mistake before, I get excited, start painting, then realized I used the wrong side of the stencil! But like you said, those fish won't care. - Airbrushing your own cranks is an excellent way to pass the winter too. Once the bitter cold temps hit, you'll be busy away at the the workbench; then spring will be here before you know it. - Be sure and post up any catches you make with 'em too.

troutgnat Posted October 5, 2010 Author Posted October 5, 2010 Well thanks guys for the remarks. I wouldn't put myself up against Tim, his a celebrity at this. I've always had an artistic side. I've been tying flies, crappie jigs, making other tackle, etc. for a long time but never got into the painting. It was something I always wanted to do but waited too long so I finally just bought the supplies, set up the bench and went at it. I actually surprised myself at how fast I took to it. These were my first two phantom craws I ever did. Plenty of research ahead of time goes a long way! Darren Sadler "Fishing is an Education...Often the fish 'school' me, yet I do not complain.
