Dutch Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 The lake is stable and if we get rain it will start coming back up. I was there yesterday and it was a sight to see with all the docks barely in the water or on dry land and the courtesy docks at the ramps tilted, slanted and/or dry. Next time I go back I'm going to take some rubber boots.
Members Muskie Bob Posted October 22, 2010 Members Posted October 22, 2010 Hermitage State Park (Cedar Crest) Open with dock floating in water. The dock seems very safe to use. The ramps are somewhat shallow compared to what I have been use to. Most boaters seem to be using the north and middle ramp. It looked like there might be a few rocks still in the south ramp. If you are by yourself, rubber boots might come in handy. I managed without them. However, it would have been easier to load my boat with rubber boots.
DChance Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Any update on ramp status? I will be around the dam/pittsburg area next wednesday and want to get out and scout around a little in the low water and maybe fish a little bit. Hermitage the best ramp right now? How is Lighthouse? Are both free or do they cost? My subdivision ramp is not usable. I may have a back seat open too for a couple hours of bass fishing.
MOPanfisher Posted January 24, 2011 Author Posted January 24, 2011 A quick updated update for current winter conditions as of Monday 24 January, 2011. Unuseable: Heritage State Park, Nemo Landing, Pittsburg State Park Marina, Pittsburg Landing, Bolivar Landing, McCracken Bridge, Lightfoot Landing. Open: Pittsburg State Park (opens onto Pomme arm), Wheatland Landing, and The Harbor. Note: that is for this morning, as the weather warms during the week it may change some. By and large the two best bets to launch are Pittsburg State Park and Wheatland Landing. Please be careful as water from trailers may freeze on ramp and make it VERY slick. Also, Lindley arm is ice covered from about Nemo Park upstream, and Pomme arm is iced from just above 83 Marina or so. Many/most coves are iced in also. Haven't heard any fishing reports lately, so if someone goes post it up!!
