Just curious...how many of you have went up in the creeks in a boat and caught bluegill, bass, etc....crappie? Just wondering.

Alot of times I limit out on trout in 2 hours of fishing, then sitting around boating up and down the lake, looking at the fountains at branson landing haha....

Drove up to forsyth the other day, saw all sorts of creeks to possibly use a trolling motor and get up into, i figured the water warms up in them.

Is there a slot limit on bass?

How is the fishing there for things other than trout?? Just curious.

You should try for bass/blue gill. No length limit on bass to keep on Taney, limit 6.

Do you know of people that have done fairly well doing it? just wondering? Is the bass/bluegill fishing any good?

I bass fished on Taney for three or four days a couple of weeks ago with Phil and had a blast. We caught several fish, mainly throwing soft plastics around laydowns and brush piles.

A friend of mine by the name of Steve Holland used to live and teach in Forsyth. He caught lots of big bass on Taneycomo at night in the summer. I doubt that much has changed.

One of the guys at the office got on the big gills a couple weeks ago. He was fishing around Rockaway but I didn't get any other details. He also caught some white bass.

I was down Monday and soft plastics worked for me. You may want to try a jig and see what happens though. Hindsight being 20 / 20 I should have also tried a spinner bait in the AM.

I need to go down again over the holiday weekend and try to catch a few.

Wow! at what depth does the Trout friendly water begin, or does it?

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

I'm sure not too far down- 2-3 feet may be. But if they don't run water soon, trout will be migrating upstream.

I had no idea that it would warm up that much. I need to get a temp sensor that can be dropped down to see where the cooler water starts and what temp it is at. That may help explain why trout fishing was a little off at the lower end of the lake.
