Members skeeterp
went out Sunday morning and yesterday morning. I have'nt seen anything. I fished from Rocky Branch to Cliftys...I can't believe they are busting up shad in the mornings yet.
Members coloradofly
how is the best way to differentiate a striper hit and a bass hitting the top of the water. I know that during the spring, when the stripers are hitting top, it sounds like someone dropping a 10 pound dumbbell in the water, is this also the case in the fall? Sore Thumbs
how is the best way to differentiate a striper hit and a bass hitting the top of the water. You can definetly tell the difference between stripers and other fish. A lot more violent. If you use a wieghtless Fluke or a Scrounger head with a Fluke on it and throw it in around those Stipers I guarantee you they will hit it. J-Doc
it sounds like someone dropping a 10 pound dumbbell in the water I think you just described it. If it were white bass, there are typically a lot of bites close together. Eventually a school will surface and the bites are not that large. Even with good sized whites, the bites are no where near bowling ball quality. I heard the whites were south of the 12 bridge. With this cold front, that might turn them on in a few days but it won't be the big push. Still a bit early. jeb
Saw a lot of guys fishing for them around Prarire Creek Marina area this week. Not sure if they're catching anything. Shad are schooling big time in front of cove mouths in that area. Caught a few whites on spoons in that area, but I didn't fish for them real hard. Beautiful time to be on the lake with the leafs changing. John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
1969Larson
Anybody see any striper activity around the Horseshoe Bend / Monte Ne area yet? The striper report I watch says the stripers may be making it into that area... http://baileysbeaverlakeguideservice.blogspot.com/
1969Larson
Well I saw a couple of boats fishing for stripers with ballons out in the mouth of Monte Ne cove yesterday. I hope they had some luck. I didn't.
Samkam1
Plenty of fish and shad in the Ventris, Coose, and PC areas...fishing was a bit tough. Did get my biggest yet, 26lbs 42". Caught 7 total stripes over the weekend...and about a dozen each white and black bass. Beautiful time to be on the lake!!! SK
