minnowhooker Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 Went walleye fishing Tuesday only managed 1 keeper and 7 crappie all caught on worms. Today was a lot better 4 keepers and 6 crappie on worms again. I stayed north of mile long bridge and fished to the dam. I spoke to a couple at the ramp and they did real well on crappie but they didn't say where
Walleyedmike Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Good job, i've been having trouble catching keepers this fall. Averaging one per day. If you don't mind my asking, were you casting, trolling cranks or bottom bouncing? WM
minnowhooker Posted October 22, 2010 Author Posted October 22, 2010 I was BB spinner rigs with a slow death hook, sometimes they would hit a regular double hook harness better so I would try both and see what they want.
Thunderin Gobbler Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 I went out yesterday evening to CC and caught 4 nice keeper crappie. Only one short and a 5" channel cat. Everyone is congregating around the bridge area up there, and there are a tone of fish showing up at all depths. It seemed like as the air temp started dropping the bite slowed down. I doubt I'll make it back out anymore this year, it's deer season and I got a baby due about anytime. So good luck to you guys and keep me updated on how good they are biting.
wtr dogs Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 TG; TAKE CARE OF THE WIFE AND BABY!!!! WE WILL KEEP YOU INFORMED OF THE GREAT FISHING AND HUNTING AROUND STOCKTON. LET ME KNOW HOW I CAN HELP WITH BENEFIT TOURNEMENT!! Home of the the dam of 2009 AKC National Debry Champion.--AMMOAMMO
Fly_Guy Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Went out bank fishing along the dam yesterday (10/22) am and pm. The wind was punishing, and rocks rough. Managed a 5 lb channel cat, 6 crappie (3 keepers), one short walleye, and about 8 bass (mix of largemouth and what looked like smallmouth/largemouth hybrids?? several were fairly decent size) I was after walleye, but just catching one was decent for me, considering I was throwing crankbaits from the bank. Caught fish on Berkely flicker shad, bandit deep divers, and wiggle warts.
Thunderin Gobbler Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Thanks Wtr dogs, will do. As far as the tournament goes, what we really need are people to fish it. I am expecting (hoping) for about 50 boats. That would make for some pretty good payouts, as well as helping us fund our Spring hunts.
