This week, trying to understand what they were doing with the water generation was enough to drive you insane. Despite the high water flows, we were able to get into some really quality fish. Especially the last two days we were there. More big fish were showing up every day.

The below photos are the good browns brought to hand. The monsters just started showing up around the end of the week. I had one monster male rainbow that was as good as hooked but I set the hook a millisecond too soon before he could bite down and pulled it right out of his mouth. A huge male around 15lbs is what we could estimate. I had a few more browns hooked up that were bigger than the others but broke off.

I am glad to say that these fish were all hooked right, and released unharmed. I saw more snagged fish, and people dragging fish on the bank than I have ever seen.

Oh yeah, they were testing the flood gates as well this week. That was an unexpected sight but I guess they have to do it sometime.

I'm already looking forward to next year!

It is bothersome to see just how many people were using tippets that were way too light, and not even carrying a net! This is a combination which spells death to many trophy fish. Many times I offered to net or lend my net to someone to be turned down, and in some cases nasty remarks. I ended up watching these fish dragged up on the bank for extended periods of time, or see the fisherman insert their fingers into the gill plate, resulting in bleeding gills. The next day you find them downstream belly up, a sad end for a trophy.

I don’t care what rig you are fishing, sooner or later you will snag a fish. If your lines too light, and/or you have no net, please break them off. If you have a heavy rig and a net and think you can get them in quick, and clean them of the hooks, do it.

Ok, I'm off the soap box, but I just had to.

Mainly scud and egg patterns. Some streamers as well.

Saw a guy today- foul hook a brown in outlet #2, fought it downstream a while, landed it, measured it, took pictures, released it.

Why would you do that when you snagged it in the tail?

He caught another rainbow too- he went upstream so I didn't see anything about it except I know it was a decent rainbow. Heard them talking.

They surrounded both #1 and #2 today - something else. But didn't see that many caught.

I fished from 8-noon. Didn't do that well. Did catch a few rainbows on a soft hackle above #2. Tried down at rocking chair but they were real fussy- midging like crazy though. Too still. The wind didn't start till afternoon.

It's only tail hooked untill they leave the parking lot. Then it's,"look what I caught".
