This is like our 4th time to hold this event on Capps. Last year Buzz took the honors again, but Chief and I decided to strip him of his title just becasue! Well, just because we lost is the main reason! He really did win, but we don't want to admit it. I've taken the title as well, but it has just been between the two of us mainly. Now last year we had some newcomers come out, but didn't really make a difference so this year we want someone to come out and show us how it's done! We hold this event every year on the Sunday after Thanksgiving no matter what the weather is so there is no excuse about that one. I thought about makeing some rules to follow this year. A point system of some sort. I guess that all depends on how many show up for this shindig. We have also had the idea to fix food afterwards, but not enough people have shown interst in that too. Chime in if you want to come out and fish Capps with us this year.

I'm looking forward to it. It's always on my calendar.

Try to make it Brian, you won't be dissapointed. Chief, are you making it out this year? As it stands now, Buzz has won the title twice and me once. We need more people out to shut Buzz down! lol I'm gunning for you this year man. I did fish it this last Sunday and there are a lot of dinks in there. Same size as we were catching at RR.

Ollie, I would love to come down but the schedule is not working out. One of these years I will be there. Is anyone going to take pics?

I think we should have at least one group picture this year and some fish shots too. I don't think we've done that yet.

I haven't been to Capp's yet. I plan on going this weekend.

I would like to attend this event. Can you post or pm me the meeting area address, co-ordinates or intersection of closest roads so I can figure fuel costs and time?

JDC, it would be great if you can make it. All you need to do is head east on HWY. 60. The road name is Wallaby Rd. ( Newton County ) and it's about 9 or 10 miles east of Monett. There is a MDC sign right on the corner. Turn left on Wallaby and follow it about 2 or 3 miles until the road forks, turn left to get to Jolly Mill. That's where we met last year.If you have a Missouri Trout Fishing map it will show you,but it's no big deal to find.

9 at the latest we should met. There is also a nice bathroom at the park now also. I am thinking of using a point system this time. What does anyone else think? That way if you only caught one big one you would still have a chance to win bragging rights! Something like any trout caught between 8-10" would be worth 1 point and any between 11-15" 2 points and then any bigger than 15" would be 3 points. Big fish could be worth 5 points or something like that. To hard to keep track of? Just throwing it out there. Try and make it JDC. The scenery is worth it alone IMO.

This is Capps around 1963. I am standing right by the Mill. Has it changed any ? We used cane poles and cheese to catch em.
