I know there is one out of prarie creek next sunday the 21st but I dont konw the entry fee or what it starts/ends. Anyone got any info or fished one this year?? wondering what the turn out is also?
Hogfan Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 I think Mobile Marine in Lowell is putting on one winter series. A guy might call their shop and get some info. I think Roger Harp is putting one on as well. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.
Donna G Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 You might call Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers 631-8118. They keep up with most of the local tournaments. I'm sure anyone could tell you, but I'd ask for Chris Johnson if he's in. sfiser Posted November 17, 2010 Author Posted November 17, 2010 thanks for the replies. I called Chris earlier in the week and he gave me the low down on them. Sounds like Roger runs them pretty well from what he said
Donna G Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 You're welcome. Yes, Roger does run a good tournament. Haven't fished his in awhile because we are usually fishing winter derbies at Table Rock. Heading to Beaver this weekend for a little fun fishing, though. Haven't been in a long time. Know what's happening with the bass? Depth? Main lake? Creeks? Structure? Baits? sfiser Posted November 18, 2010 Author Posted November 18, 2010 I've fished from Rocky Branch up both the clifty arms the last 2 sundays. Had some nice fish on football jigs on the poings and also swimming a grub on the bluffends. They have bitten the jig so well, its about all I have thrown. thought about throwing a wart but we just didnt have much wind either day. Will be out again this weekend. 08 White champion with black and yellow strip and yamaha HPDI. If you see me come say hi.
Donna G Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 Thanks! We're going Saturday ourselves. We'll look for you. We'll be in a 2004 Champion white with silver, black and red trim. 200 Merc Opti with red OA sticker. White GMC Z71 with big War Eagle sticker on the back windshield. Champ188 Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 Didn't see you Sunday sfiser, but one or the other of us might have been down in the trough of one of those mighty swells when we passed each other. LOL. It was another one of those frequent days when I'm proud to be in a Champion. We fished from break of day to 1 p.m. and managed three keeper spots — two on a spinner bait and one on a watermelon seed Wart. Caught a bunch of shorts on the blade and one on a grub but it was nearly impossible to throw anything but a blade that wind. Man, did it blow. By 10 a.m. it was 20-25 mph steady with gusts over 30 mph. Nearly all of our fish came off flat, windblown points in the Cliftys. Pea gravel with scattered chunk rock was best.

That will make you wanna go back to Table Rock. lol.
