I just joined yesterday and have been reading alot of topics and wanted to start another topic.

Well here it is:

Everyone likes the tap tap feeling at the end of our lines however what lure is at the end

or our line? I want to know what choices people prefer or have better results with different lures.

I fish all three lures: Jigs, Worms, Creature baits. All have produced similiar results. I am asking if there was only one lure to use what lure would you use? Jig, Worms, or Creature baits?

Let the discussion begin.

Just one? darn. I guess worms. But I tend to fish all of them on any given trip trying to figure out what they want. So it depends on the day, really.

I became more allied to it this year, but for me the worm still rules. I find that If they're biting a jig, they will also bite a worm, but it doesn't always work the other way around. So if I could only have one, it would have to be the worm. At least for me.

I will give the jig my vote. I've always got one tied on and at least 50% of my fish are caught on a jig of some kind.

If fishing was easy it would be called catching.

In stream fishing, I try to keep it simple. Murky water, I use a jig with a plastic chunk type trailer because I think the exposed lead head of the jig makes more noise and the lure itself has a bulkier profile than what I use in clear water, which is a tube with internal weight. In clear, cold water I'll also use a finesse worm on a small jig head, or a Senko type "worm" fished with a split shot a few inches up the line. I don't use creature baits or hula grubs simply because the times I've tried them I've had little success, so I don't have confidence in them.

I like em all...Clear water...worms, tubes, curly tail grubs, hula grubs. Its hard to find a salty smelly chunk of plastic that they wont eat sometimes.. Stained water-Jig & Chunk with or w/o a rattle. Cheers.
